Biography

Roy began his career as a letter carrier at the Paramus Post Office on March 28, 2008.  He became shop steward in November of 2008, and has held that office ever since.  Roy represents over 75 carriers,  just in his home office.

Throughout the years, Roy has held many positions with Branch 38.  They include Route Examination Observer, Route Inspection Trainer, Joint Route Inspection Team Member, OJT Instructor, Local Food Drive Coordinator and Safety Representative.

In June of 2014, he was appointed by President Pete Maglio to be Part-Time Area Representative.  That same year, Roy graduated from Leadership Academy Class #18.  The very same year he was appointed as the District Lead for the CDRAAP program.  In 2015 Roy graduated from Arbitration Advocate Training, and has been utilizing that training to further represent Branch 38 members and Region 15 as one of our standout advocates. He was very successful in arbitration during the recent 2017-2018 LMOU impasses.  Roy worked part time as a Local Business Agent for the NBA office while on the Region 15 ACTT Team from 2015-2019.

President Mike O’Neill appointed Roy to the position of Trustee and Branch 38 Food Drive Coordinator in 2017. Roy was elected by acclamation to the position of Sergeant of Arms in January of 2019. In 2022, Roy was elected by acclamation to the position of recording Secretary.

Roy is very proud to represent the members of the NALC. He particularly appreciates the members and how they trust him and have the confidence in him to defend them and their interests.  Roy lives in Saddle Brook NJ with his wife Melissa. They have three children Alexa, Taylor and Roy III.
