Mike transferred to the East Brunswick Post Office
as a letter carrier in 1982 after spending nine years as a clerk in the NJI & BMC in Jersey City. Shortly
after his move to East Brunswick, Mike became involved in the NALC and was appointed to the position of alternate shop steward.
He was soon elected as shop steward and became involved in many of the activities of Branch 38.
Mike has
served the members of Branch 38 in many capacities over the years including arbitration advocate, EI Steering Committee member,
and LISTEN Coordinator. He was appointed to the committee tasked with developing the UMP grievance procedure
for the Central NJ District and served as one of the original team members for that process. Mike was also
appointed by National President Vince Sombrotto to serve on the NALC Task Force to explore the concept of an evaluated route
structure.
Mike held the position of part-time area representative for many years before being appointed, and eventually elected,
to a full-time position. He has held several elected offices with Branch 38: Full-Time
Area Representative, Director of City Delivery, Second Vice President, First Vice President, and Executive Vice President.
Mike was elected by acclimation to the office of President in 2016.
Mike will forever be grateful
to the members of Branch 38 for the trust they have shown in him. He considers it a tremendous honor to
be able to serve the letter carriers in Branch 38. Mike lives in East Brunswick with his wife Elizabeth.
They have three grown children Kevin, Tim, and Megan.
